Nola Davis

Nola Grace Davis, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, step-grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, September 5, 2016.

Born in Alton on February 15, 1939, she was the daughter of Ethmer Cecil and Geneva (Backus) Emery.

She had worked as a teacher aide for the St. Louis County Special School District for 17 years before retiring.  She also co-owned R&N Tours in Wood River.

She worshiped at Gospel Tabernacle and was a member of the Woman's Chapter of the Loyal Order of Moose.

On August 22, 1989 in Wood River, she was married to Richard A. Davis.  He survives.

Surviving also are four sons, Darrell Beckwith, Greg Beckwith (Joan), James "Danny" Beckwith, Brent Beckwith (Amie); two daughters, Rhonda Oates (Tommy), Jeanie Beckwith; three step-daughters, Deborah Klinghammer, Christine Kuhlmann and Sandra Coble; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, James Emery.

Her parents; four brothers, Dean, Dale, Robert and Max Emery; and a sister, Rose Spaulding preceded in death.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Gospel Tabernacle, 2727 St. Ambrose Dr in Godfrey.  Pastor Alfred Daves will officiate.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Gospel Tabernacle or Moose Charities in Mooseheart, IL.
