Nicholas E. “Nick” Cannedy, 32, of Bethalto, passed away on September 15, 2018, at 7:00 pm, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on October 10, 1985, the son of Terry & Vickey Lynn (Hansen) Cannedy. He married Sarah E. Campbell on June 13, 2009 at OLQP in Bethalto. She survives.
Nick was a journeyman mechanic at Auto Centers Nissan in Wood River. He graduated from Ranken Technical College with an Electrical and Automotive Degree. He was a member of the International Union of Machinists Local 313 and District 9. He enjoyed writing poems, having one published many years ago. He loved music, camping, fishing, being with his friends and family, especially his children, and having drinks with his friends in his garage.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Hayden Lynn Cannedy and Connor Alan Cannedy; a brother, Jason Cannedy of Bunker Hill; a nephew and his fiancé, Dustin Robert Cannedy and Hannah Hensley; a niece, Libby Cannedy; his mother-in-law, Catherine Campbell; a great-niece, Madelynn; a brother-in-law, Brian Campbell; two sisters-in-law, Amy (Mike) Denother and Nickie (Mike) Carrier; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Teresa Lynn Cannedy; and father-in-law, Keith Campbell.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10 am, on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
