Nicholas Capozzi

Nicholas Capozzi, 91, passed away on March 18, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Nicholas was born in Auburn, New York on November 1, 1934 to Vito and Isabella (Daddato) Capozzi.

Nicholas married Arlene Hudson on August 19, 1967 in Ellery, IL.

Nicholas was a proud member of the United States Air Force and reserves for over 30 years and a member of Alton VFW 1308.  He was the Director of Materials at Alton Memorial Hospital until his retirement on January 2, 1982.

Nicholas was a member of Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton, IL. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Nicholas is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, infant sister Maria, his sisters and spouses Mary and Bernard Osterman, Lucy and Nunzio Ciulla, Angela and Donald Bowden, his brothers and spouses John and Mildred Capozzi, Anthony and Mary Capozzi, and Patrick and Kathleen Capozzi. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 10:00 am with the service at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.

Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Bethel Cemetery in Ellery, IL.

Memorials can be made to Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton, IL or any veterans organization.
