Nancy S. Starnes, 76 of Edwardsville IL, passed away on Monday July 6, 2026 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL.
She was born on April 22, 1950 in Glen Carbon, IL the daughter of the late Charles and Harriet (Smith) Starnes.
A professor for many years at SIUE and McKendree University in the accounting field, Nancy is survived by her sister, Bonnie McClellan, brother Kevin Starnes as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her beloved friend, Frank Kirwood.
A special thank you to Nancy's caregiver, Chloe Hellinger for all of her loved and devotion to the care of Nancy for the last year.
Nancy enjoyed releasing butterflies, photography, planting flowers, hiking and baking. She was known for her beautiful voice and amazing musical talents such as playing the harp and piano.
A private memorial will be held at a later date for immediate family.
