Nancy Ann Nienhuser, 86, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died at 9:18 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the home of her daughter in Jerseyville.
She was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on July 1, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Cloyd and Eleanor (McNeilly) Fitch.
Nancy grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas and graduated in 1955 from Pittsburg High School. She later attended St. John's College in Winfield, Kansas where she obtained her Associates Degree.
She married Carl Edward Nienhuser Sr. on December 11, 1955 in Pittsburg, Kansas, and together they shared 64 years together before his death on April 23, 2020.
For many years she and her husband resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Nancy had recently relocated to Jerseyville. While in Tulsa, she was a librarian for the Tulsa Metropolitan Library, and she and her husband spent many years serving as missionaries in Africa.
Surviving are two daughters and a son in-law, Delane Nienhuser of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Danele and Rev. David Otten of Jerseyville; a son, Jason Nienhuser of New Orleans, Louisiana; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 brothers and a sister in-law, Richard Fitch of Lafayette, Louisiana, Charles and Connie Fitch of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Rodney Fitch of Beggs, Oklahoma.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl Edward Nienhuser Jr.; a daughter, Dedra Hessee; and two sisters, Janet Hannah and Cathy Fitch.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2014 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville. Rev. Tim Schnare will officiate.
Burial will be in Kane Cemetery.
In honor of the loving care provided to Nancy's mother, memorials may be given to Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
