Nancy Leigh Sandifer, 69, died at 11:05 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born May 2, 1948 in Smyrna, Georgia, she was the daughter of George W. and Ruby (Kirby) Wilson. Nancy graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY and was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church. On December 15, 1973 in Macon, GA, she married Perry Sandifer. He survives. Also surviving is a son, Tim Sandifer (Suzie) of Alton, two grandchildren, Adelia Leigh Sandifer and Isaac Timothy Sandifer, one brother, Larry Wilson (Patti) of Mabelton, GA. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton and continue from 9:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Godfrey First United Methodist Church. Reverend Steve Friese and Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Godfrey First United Methodist Church or Pennies for Posho (Ugandan Thunder).
