Nadeen Marie Schuette, age 89, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Anderson Hospital surrounded by her family.
Nadeen was born on December 8, 1935, in East Saint Louis, Illinois, the daughter of the late Harold and Marie (Kunnemann) Fingerhut.
She graduated from Collinsville High School. On September 10, 1955, she married Norman Schuette, her beloved husband of 58 years, who preceded her in death. She devoted herself to raising their three children. She later began working as a secretary for the Illinois Education Association until her retirement.
Nadeen dedicated much of her life to caring for others, including serving as a devoted caregiver. Her selflessness and nurturing spirit touched the lives of her family and all those whom she encountered.
Nadeen is survived by her three children: Kent Schuette & wife Bonni, Sandra Schuette Fultz, and Greg Schuette & wife Maureen, all of Edwardsville; eight grandchildren: Dr. Jacob Schuette & wife Dr. Christy Wohlford, Benjamin Schuette, Brett Halbe & wife Savannah, Emily Calderon & husband Jose, Jason Fultz & wife Robin, Thomas Schuette, Marissa Schuette, and Nicholas Schuette; six great-grandchildren: Dylan Schuette, Jack Schuette, William Fultz, Evie Fultz, Cooper Halbe, and Vivienne Halbe; siblings: Carol Petty of Foristell, Missouri, and John Fingerhut & wife Shirley of Collinsville, Illinois; two brothers-in-law: Howard Schuette & wife Alene of Edwardsville, and Robert Schuette & wife Pam of Missoula, Montana; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Nadeen was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Mark Petty of Foristell, Missouri, and Tom Schuette of St. Augustine, Florida.
At her request, Nadeen's body was donated to the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
A visitation service will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Edwardsville, Illinois.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Praise Community Fellowship located in the Esic Worship Center, 1000 University Drive, Edwardsville, Illinois. The service will be conducted by Nadeen's son, Pastor Kent Schuette.
In lieu of flowers, Nadeen’s family requests memorials to Beverly Farm Foundation, home to her grandson, Ben Schuette, located in Godfrey, IL.
