Monica Moffet, 74, passed away peacefully at 8:02 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Jerseyville Manor.
She was born on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1952, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Robert Warren and Patricia Jean (Pardee) Moffet. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Moffet and Melodee (Moffet) Costanzo. She later married Richard “Dan” Winnett, who preceded her in death on July 7, 2026.
Monica was an artist who spent her life supporting the arts and creating beauty. She loved the time of year when the earth warmed enough for her to plunge her hands into the soil, tending to her beautiful gardens. Her special connection with nature was well known, and she now gleefully joins her dogs, cats, rabbits, and other beloved pets who preceded her. Professionally, Monica served as a psychotherapist, dedicating herself to supporting survivors of childhood trauma. Throughout her life, she was profoundly supportive of her community, friends, and family.
She is lovingly remembered by her nephew, Eric Moffet (and his wife, Tatum); her great-nieces, Amelia and Fiona, and an eagerly awaited baby girl on the way; her aunt, Phyllis; her cousins, Craig and Susan (as well as Susan’s beautiful family); and her beloved friends and chosen family.
In accordance with Monica’s wishes, no public services will be held. Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville has been entrusted with arrangements. Memories may be shared with the family by visiting www.crawfordfunerals.com.
