Mildred Pauline Peoples

Mildred Pauline Peoples, 84, died at 1:35 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2009 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home. She was born in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas on July 23, 1925, the daughter of the late Andrew and Alpha (Roach) Green Sr.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, anything to do with the outdoors, but basically enjoyed her time with family & friends. She married Jesse "Jack" Peoples on Nov. 26, 1945 Winnsboro, Franklin Parish, Louisiana and together they raised a family of seven children, and made their home in both Louisiana and Jerseyville throughout the years.  They were married for nearly 54 years before his death on May 14, 1999.

Surviving are five daughters & their spouses, Nancy & Celio Lucero of Niceville, Tx., Marilyn Ward of Carrollton, Ga., Martha Sue & Junior Dobbs of Fayette, Barbara Liles of Jerseyville, and Lois & Craig Baalman of Jerseyville; a daughter in law, Patricia Peoples of Carrollton; 27 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Rayls & Carolyn Green both of Jerseyville, three brothers, Donald Green of Jerseyville, Ralph Green of Kane, and Calvin Green of Grafton. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her son, Jesse Wayne Peoples on July 13, 2005; a granddaughter, Denise Hardwick; a great grandson, Brandon Ehrheart; three sisters, Helen Green, Dorothy Stokes, and Viola King; and five brothers, Marion, Leslie, Walter, Raymond, and Adrian Green.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

Memorials may be given to the funeral home, to help defray various family members medical expenses.
