Mildred Elizabeth "Peggy' Scherff, 90, passed away 5:20 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at her residence.
Born on September 30, 1926 in Morrisonville, she was the daughter of Henry and Alvera (Nussman) Oller.
She had worked as a selector for Owens-IL Glass for 29 years before retiring. Peggy was a member of the Alton Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and Alton VFW Auxiliary; and loved bowling, playing BINGO and cards.
On December 18, 19445 in Alton, she married William T. Buehlman. He died February 6, 1985. She then married Harold O. Scherff on November 28, 1989 in Las Vegas. He died August 26, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Billie Rene Trigg of Alton; step-son, Paul (Donna) Scherff of Prairietown; two step-daughters, Brenda (Bill) Gusewell of Prairietown, Vicki (Gary) Upton of Ohio; two great grandchildren, William Brad Lewis, Christina Strow; seven grandchildren, Courtney Underwood, William Lewis, Ben Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Danna Strow, Kristen Cloninger; five great-great grandchildren, Ashton Gleason, Keaton Gleason, Adalynn Strow, Noah Lewis, Paisley Underwood; brother, Bob Oller of Alton; and sister, Shirley Brenenberg of Charolette, MI.
Preceding in death were her parents; husbands; great grandson, Josh Lewis; four brothers, Donald, Willis Oscar, Henry and Jack Oller; and three sisters, Imogene Carson, Alvera Lawrence and Mary Wheelan.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills where she bad been a member.
