Michael L. Volz, 52, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
He was born Nov. 23, 1971 in Alton. Mike worked as a maintenance supervisor for the former Rosewood Care Center, now LaBella of Alton. He loved his music, and he enjoyed tinkering with his truck, hiking in Tennessee, and would help anyone that needed it.
Survivors include his sons, Alex (Joesph) Shepherd, Cody Volz, Kevin (Kaylie) Volz, Chase (Lynette) Grimsley, Nick (Shelby) Volz, and Mikey Volz; 5 grandchildren; mother and stepfather, Cheryl and Rod Margherio; father and stepmother Michael and Alice Volz; his friend and former wife Sara Volz; stepbrother Billy Rogosky; and stepsisters Katrina Rogosky, Alicia Pieper, and Nicole Greathouse.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at Paynic Home for Funerals, with cremation to follow.
