Michael (Mike) Alan Bopp Born February 8, 1955. Deceased September 18, 2020Mike had an extended illness for thirteen years. He died at the age of 65. He was the son of Milton and Geneva Bopp. Mike never met a stranger. He was always a happy go lucky man. Mike graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1973. While in high school he played the saxophone in the Marching 100 Band. When he was 17 years old, he was the Master Counselor of Demolay for Boys. After high school, Mike went on to become a Registered Nurse. He graduated from Kirksville Missouri School of Nursing in 1977. While Mike was in college, he joined the Navy Reserve and when he graduated he worked at the Bethesda Military Hospital in Maryland. Mike's goal in life was to always help other people and he accomplished this by working as a nurse and participating in many Walks to Emmaus. Mike leaves behind his Mother, Geneva Bopp, Brother, Jeff Bopp, and his Sister Jane Barnett (Greg), all of Springfield, Missouri. 4 Children - Heather Worthy (Matt), Laura Green (Derrick) both from Springfield , Mo. Jacob Bopp (Marlene) of St. Louis, Mo. and Jordan Bopp of Indiana and 6 grandchildren. Burial will be Saturday, June 26th at 10 am at Valhalla Cemetery, Godfrey, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Youth Program at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 1212 W. Homer Adams Parkway, Godfrey, Il. 62035. Mike was a member of the church in his junior and senior high school days and was very active in the junior and senior high youth groups.
