Michael G. Lopez, 68, passed away on July 25, 2026, with his family by his side in St. Louis, MO.
Michael was born on January 6, 1958 in Belleville, IL to Ralph C. and Arlene S (Prasuhn) Lopez.
He married Connie K. Finke on February 20, 1982 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Nashville, IL.
He began his career as a special education teacher in 1981 and retired from Greenfield High School, Greenfield, IL, in 2016, having served 35 years. He was musically talented playing the piano, saxophone, guitar, and banjo. He also enjoyed working on cars and in the yard and was quite the handyman always having a project around the house.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Connie; son, Jordan M. Lopez (Chau Nguyen) of Alton, IL; grandchild, James Lopez; brothers, Craig Lopez of Florrisant, MO; sister, Mitch Meyers (Robert) of Edwardsville, IL; sister-in-law, Bobbie Thomas of Oakdale, IL; brother-in-law, Don Finke (Shirley) of Champaign, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home Godfrey are in charge of arrangements.
