Born in Alton on September13, 1974, he was the son of Dennis Legate of Wood River and Laura (Ireland) Elliott of Alton.
He worked as a self employed contractor.
Surviving in addition to parents are a son, Dakota Cox of East Alton; daughter, Emma Camden of Golden Eagle; a grandchild; brother, Jeremy Elliott of Alton; two sisters, Rebecca Burch of Troy and Stacie Hipsher of Alton.
Private services were conducted at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
