Michael Frederick Mitchell, 48, died at 7:25 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at his home.
Born March 14, 1964 in Alton, he was the son of Mary “Gerry” (Hoefert) Mitchell of Godfrey and the late Dr. Michael F. Mitchell. He retired as a network designer and over the years had worked for Edward D. Jones, Savvis, Nortel, and Charter Communications. He was a member of the Godfrey Knights of Columbus.
Along with his mother, he is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, M. Maura and Augie Wuellner of Godfrey, Dr. Sheila Mitchell and Dr. Clair Morud of Ashland, WI, and Marian and Daniel Dreyer of Tulsa, OK, and seven nieces and nephews; Leigh and Mitch Wuellner, Eric and Sonya Morud, and Matthew, Andrew and Stephen Dreyer.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Matthew Mitchell.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Pohlman will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose School or the St. Anthony’s Foundation.
