Michael Dillier

Michael Ray Dillier, affectionately known as “Dooky,” of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born on September 16, 1951, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a son of the late Charles Ray and Jeanne (Bennett) Dillier.

He married Diane L. (Mshar) Dillier on September 3, 1999, in Edwardsville, Illinois, and she survives. Michael was a retired electrician and a proud journeyman wireman with IBEW Local 309, where he dedicated 55 years of service. He was honored to have served as Past President for several terms and took great pride in his work and his union family.

Michael enjoyed spending his free time shooting pool, fishing, and working around his home. He found great satisfaction in keeping busy and took pride in caring for the things he loved.

In addition to his beloved wife, Diane, he is survived by two children, Michael Charles (Lyn) Dillier of Glen Carbon and Lori (Josh) Neidhardt of Highland; two stepdaughters, Wendy Budnicki of Collinsville and Nicole Budnicki of Granite City; his grandson and adopted son, Nolynn Budnicki of Collinsville; four grandchildren, Grace, Macey, Kasey, and Lelynn; three great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Layne, and Jett; a brother, Brian Dillier of St. Louis; a sister, Vicky Kunderer of St. Louis; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ron Blanton.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, Illinois, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
