Michael Dean Allen, 61, of Tomball, TX and formerly of Rosewood Heights passed away unexpectedly March 29, 2018 while working in Zachary, LA.

Mike was born in Wood River on December 11, 1956 to LD and Louise Allen.  He graduated from Roxana High School in 1974.  He attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science.

Mike traveled the world working in the oil and gas industry. Settling in Huston in the early 90’s and starting his own company within the industry in 2005.  He had over 40 years in the oil and gas industry and had a passion for hunting and a love of family.  Mike often said “I’ll never retire.  I love what, I am doing”.

Mike was a generous and giving man and had a heart for animals, especially his two fur babies Buck and Bubba Dean.  He enjoyed cooking for his family and gave them a comfortable life.  He loved his kids dearly and you could always see the tears in his eyes, when he spoke with pride, about all they have accomplished.  Mike loved spending time with his father, son and best friends hunting and fishing.  He will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Allen; father, L.D. Allen; son, Nick Allen; daughter, Jenna Fox-Allen; mother-in-law, Arcelie Gresham; brother-in-law, Jeff Gresham; aunt’ Virginia Gurley; cousin, Pat Gurley; friends whom he considered brothers Kevin Lintz and Jim Watson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Allen; daughter, Chelsea Allen and brother, Bill Allen.

As were his wishes Mike will be cremated and his ashes will be placed close to his daughter Chelsea, who suffered from Cerebral Palsy and he raised as a single parent and caregiver until her passing at 13.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with Rev. Robert “Bob” Harris officiating.  In Lieu of flowers please make memorials to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
