Michael Edward Cleveland, 67, of Alton, IL, passed away Wed. Oct. 11, 2023 at his home.
He was born Aug. 11, 1956 in Wood River, IL to the late Edward E. & Laverne J. Cleveland.
Mike spent his life working in the medical field since age 18, serving as an Orderly, EMT and Paramedic at AMH, ending his career as a Surgical Assistant for a prominent Orthopedic Surgeon in Alton after 19 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting, kayaking, scuba diving and loved spending time at Table Rock Lake in Branson. He was also a classic car buff and dabbled in raising and racing his beloved Thoroughbred, “JamesFlightForBuck”.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy Marie (Brunner) Cleveland; son: Dane Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law: Sandy & Rick Johnson; nieces: Melissa, Kayla and Heather; nephews: Shelton, Joey, Jason and Joe; 6 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: James V. Cleveland; a very special nephew: Jimmy Cleveland; infant nephew: Clayton Hipsher; in-laws, Ed and Nonie Brunner and a dear sister-in-law: Barb Brammer.
A memorial visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of memorial services at 4:00 p.m. Sun. Oct. 15, 2023 at Paynic Home for Funerals with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Treehouse Wildlife Rehab Center.
