Melissa Nicole Klunk, 29, died unexpectedly Friday, September 7, 2018 in the Emergency Room at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born in Alton on March 7, 1989, and was the beloved daughter of Dale and Karen (Bell) Klunk.
Melissa grew up in Alton, and was a model student all of her life, graduating with the class of 2007 from Alton High School.
She worked for a period of time at in the Deli at Shop N' Save in St. Louis, MO as well as Casey's General Store in Godfrey and Dairy Queen in Bethalto..
Melissa was a true animal lover of all kinds, but had a very special place for frogs, turtles and most importantly cats.
She also enjoyed spending time outdoors in the sunshine and hand making a variety of jewelry pieces.
She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin in friend to many and her memory will live on in each and every one who knew her.
Surviving are her parents, Dale and Karen Klunk of Dow; a sister, Casey Klunk of Alton; a brother, Jason Bell of Dupo; grandmothers, Mary Davis of Jerseyville and Ruby Bell of Grafton; a niece, Alissa Maness; three nephews, Isaiah Knoche, Bryson Stokes and Lucas Bell; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Walter and Nadine Klunk; her maternal grandfather, Roy Bell; as well as five uncles, Lee Bell, Kenny Bell, Boby Bell; Terry Davis and Greg Klunk.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday.
Burial will take place at the Newbern Cemetery in Dow.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
