Melissa (Bonney) Sanders, 48, died peacefully on January 24, 2021, at her home in Alton, IL, with her significant other Scott Wooff and family members by her side.
She was born December 4, 1972, to Charles and Stephanie Bonney in Alton, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bonney Jr., daughter Ashley Nicole Bradshaw and niece Kaylynn Bonney.
Surviving are her mother Stephanie Hill and stepfather Don Hill of Godfrey, IL,daughter Julia Bradshaw of Godfrey, IL, stepdaughter Faith Sanders of Alton, IL, brothers Christopher Bonney of Godfrey, IL, Shane Bonney of Johnston City, IL, Matthew Bonney of Marion, IL, Dr. Craig Hill of St. Louis, MO, and sister Sarah Hill of Godfrey, IL.
Also surviving are, grandchildren Landon, Preston, Kinsley, and Warren DeVerger of Jerseyville, IL, and Wraylynn Bradshaw of Godfrey, IL, nieces Stefanie Bonney of Godfrey, Chelsea Bonney of Johnston City, IL, and Natalie Keltner of Johnston City, IL, nephews Christopher Bonney Jr. of Godfrey, IL, and Boston Peyton of Johnston City, IL.
Melissa Sanders never met a child that did not like her. Her love for her grandchildren was evident and infinite. She had an iron will that kept her with us as long as we had her.
As a Certified Nurse's Assistant in her nursing home care, she had a great love for the elderly and they loved her. Her hobbies included cooking and photography. Her many friends and relatives could not help but love her even when they were mad at her.
She will be missed by all of her family and to all those who loved her we thank you.
There will be no services as per her request. Contributions in memory of Melissa may be provided to Saint Anthony's OSF Hospice of Alton, IL.
