Melinda J. Andrus-Cross, 54, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 10:07 a.m., at her home with family by her side.
She was born on May 10, 1962, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Meril and Sally (Cooper) Andrus.
Melinda and husband Jim Cross have spent 37 wonderful years together.
She was a member of River of Life Church in Alton, enjoyed dancing, yard work, road trips, fixing things, bingo, but most importantly spending time with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren. Melinda always wanted to ride on the back of her husband’s bike but was always to sick.
Survivors include six children, Kenny and Cindi Klenke of Edwardsville, James Cross of Alton, Holly Cross and fiancé Tyler Kennedy of Alton, Heather Cross of Alton, Autumn and Nick Greenberg of Alton, and Zachary Cross of Alton; four siblings, Yvonne Strader of Michigan, Sally Counts of Alton, Mary and Jim Riggs of Boston Massachusetts, and John Gleason of East Alton ; and eight grandchildren, Ethan, Taylor, Cody, Colten, Brenden, Haylea, Zoei, and Noah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Ernie Gleason.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
