Maximus Christopher Schleeper, 18, of Alton, Illinois died at home on February 27, 2024.
Max was born on October 7, 2005 in St. Louis, Missouri to Christoper and Denise Schleeper.
On February 27th, 2024, our world was completely shattered. Our beautiful, blue-eyed baby boy made a decision that no one saw coming. Maximus Christopher. We called him Maximus Beauregard, Maxi BoBo or just Bo. Please don’t remember him by this last action. Remember him by his love of his family, his fierce loyalty, his clearly black/white vision on issues, sharp and quick wit, his quiet observation. He was a great hockey player and we loved to watch him and his teams play. Max was a senior at Alton High School. He had plans to go to SWIC for the Aviation Program and become a pilot after high school graduation.
Max was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Schleeper. Max is survived by his parents, Chris and Denise and his sister Summer, his grandparents, Donavon and Jeanette Deeder and Carol Schleeper-Shenberger (Patrick).
He is also survived by his aunt, Tracy Ducey (John), uncle, Zack Deeder (Kristen), aunt, Cheri Burris (Shad), aunt, Sonya Schumann (Ted). Also surviving are his cousins Reed, Ross and Rowe Schumann; Colton and Cale Burris and Olivia, Donavon and Madeleine Ducey and Austin Olson.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Donations to the 5 A’s Animal Shelter in Alton would be greatly appreciated as Max was an animal lover who wanted to bring every stray home.
