Maude Jane Pocklington, 66, passed away at 1:26 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 1, 1953, she was the daughter of William Stanley and Mabel Marie Edgington.
Jane worked as a cook for several years at the Hen House Restaurant, and she had also worked in the past as a truck driver, horse trainer, and jockey.
Survivors include her children, Ruby Richardson of Roxana, Billy Carrington, Chris Carrington, both of Alton, Steven Carrington of Jacksonville, and Pepper Arnold Mull; 12 grandchildren, Amanda, William, Joseph, Cheyenne, Breeanna, Christian, Mya, Paisley, Brandon, Cooper, Faith, and Jazmyne; and her siblings, Elvina Farthing, Barbara Edgington, Bud Edgington, Randy Edgington, Victoria Mattmiller, and Everett Henson; and her niece and caregiver Elizabeth Farthing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Brenda Edgington; and her former husband Sim Pocklington.
