He leaves behind one niece, Samantha (Marcus) Brown; two great nieces, Sonia Galvan (John Stormer) and Sloan Smith; a great nephew, Emmett Menke and a great niece, Evelyn Menke. He also leaves behind his girlfriend of 23 years, Teresa Gleason, who he referred to as his goddess. Not only did he love her, but also had a special bond with her children, Megan Gleason, Crystal Gleason, Kevin Gleason, David Gleason and John Gleason, Jr.

He also leaves behind a special group, who he had been friends with since their early elementary school days. They still had monthly gatherings.
