Matthew Curtis, 24, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Bethalto, Illinois.
He was born on May 23, 1993, in St. Charles, MO, the son of David Curtis and Christine (Harris) Curtis.
Matthew was employed at Team Industrial as a safety inspector. He was loved by everyone who knew him and never met a person who didn’t like him. You could always find him playing video games next to his best friend and companion, Alice.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Christine Curtis of Fenton, MO and David Curtis (fiancé, Stacie McNamara) of Bethalto; a sister and his best friend, Elizabeth “Liz” Curtis of Fenton, MO; a brother, Casey (Ashley) Curtis of Wichita, KS; a grandmother, Elisabeth “Lisa” Curtis of Bethalto; one aunt, Brenda (Dave) Gibbons of Bethalto; three uncles, Raymond (Melanie) Curtis of Dupo, Gregory Harris of Athens, GA, Frank Janoski of St. Louis, MO; six cousins, Alex Curtis, Amelia Johnson, Sydney Curtis, Lexi Curtis, Joe Gibbons and Julie Gibbons; a nephew, Blaine Curtis; step-siblings; Morgan McNamara of Bethalto and Mackenzie (Travis) Morgan of St. Louis; and many devoted friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Corey Curtis; aunt and godmother, Debra Harris Janoski; grandparents, Richard “Sarge” Curtis, Dr. Gilbert D. Harris, Julia Henson-Harris and Robert Bussey.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 where funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Father Linus Umoren.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
