Maryella D. Heitz, 92, passed away at 9:15 pm, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
She was born in Columbus, OH on August 3, 1922 the daughter of the late W. Hunter Haffey and Mary Ann Bailey.
She married Charles J. Heitz, on December 30, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Maryella was a homemaker. She was a member of Lockhaven Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Charles, a daughter and her spouse, Kathie and Jim Woeltje of Jackson, MO, a son and his spouse, Joe and Julie Heitz of Godfrey, a son-in-law, Frank Zappulla of Kill Devil Hills, NC; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Drew and Camille Rinacke, Bethany Rinacke, Ryan and Melissa Rinacke, Molly Woeltje, Carley and Adam Hartig, Caitlin Heitz, Catherine Heitz, Maria and Adam White, Tony Zappulla and Anna Zappulla; one sister, Joan Fox of Huntington, WV; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Susan Zappulla.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Graveside Service will be at 11 am Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.
