Mary Lou Tomko (nee Zucksworth), 64, of Marine, Illinois gained her wings on May 9th, 2026, in Maryville, Illinois.
She was born July 7,1961 in Greenville, IL to Arthur and Elnoma (Cleek) Zucksworth. Mary graduated as the Salutatorian of the Mulberry Grove High School, class of 1979. She went on to further her education at Eastern Illinois University, earning a degree in accounting.
Mary will be remembered for her love of angels, Dr. Pepper, sea turtles, and anything “blingy”.
She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, and, in her honor, we ask that you wear your favorite Cardinals gear in remembrance as Mary loved the Cardinals and would want this day to be a casual affair.
Mary leaves behind her beloved brother, Larry Zucksworth, 2 children Josh Swiecicki and Jennifer Swiecicki, cherished cousin Teresa C Gandy, life-long friend Lisa Ketchem, caregivers Sharon Clark, Holly Jo Dunn, Tiffany Perry and Sandi Highsmith, and many extended family and countless friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Hubert and Pearl Cleek, one brother William Sexton and sisters Lois Ann and Ann Marie Zucksworth.
Mary’s strength and determination inspired everyone she met. Please join us in celebrating Mary’s life on Saturday May 30, 2026. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm with services following at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral home at 203 West Oak Street in Greenville, IL 62246. Interment will be at Noffsinger Cemetery.
