Mary Therese Williams passed into eternal life on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Boca Raton, Florida. She was 87 years old.
Formerly of Alton, IL she was born on January 24, 1931, the daughter of the late CDR (USCG) Anthony P. and Mary H. Winkler of Alexandria, VA.
She is survived by her five children Kay Steer (Robert), Marcie Wahnish (Craig), Eric Williams (Ede), all of Florida, Linda Jones (David) of Moro, IL and Mark Williams (Russell) of San Jose, CA. She is also survived by four brothers James (Susan) Winkler, David (Marcia Sue) Winkler, Richard (Cristina) Winkler and sister-in-law Karen (Frank) Winkler all of Alexandria, VA and Charles (Stephanie) Winkler of Bradenton, FL.
Mary also had four brothers who preceded her in death (Paul, Tony, Frank and Robert).
She is survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her former husband John R. Williams (Dorothy) of Lake Wales, Florida.
Mary was employed by the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. where she retired after 18 years of service. She lived in Alexandria, VA until 2010 when she moved to Deerfield Beach, FL and later to Boca Raton, FL. Mary was an avid pianist and bridge player. She had a beautiful singing voice and all of her children were introduced to the piano at early ages. Her spiritual life flowed to every person that she came into contact with and her dedication to God and her family were the main priorities in her life.
Mary was cremated in accordance with her wishes.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA on November 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. and interment will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
