Mary Elizabeth Schuetz, a beloved resident of Carlinville and a dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29th, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on Wednesday, March 6th, 1940, Mary was the dearly loved daughter of the late Richard Deem and Mildred Deem. Her parents instilled in her a sense of compassion and kindness which she carried throughout her life and career.

Mary devoted her life to caring for others as a nurse, touching countless lives with her warm heart and gentle hands. Her commitment to the well-being of her patients was unparalleled, and her colleagues and patients alike cherished her dedication and expertise.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law; Richard "Ed" & Robin Schuetz of Dorsey, Steven & Georgan Schuetz of Dardenne Prairie, MO., 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.

Besides Mary's parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; Jackie Deem, one sister; Becky Hayes and her special friend; Mary Bowling

 Mary was known for her resilient spirit and her unwavering love for her family. She was a friend to everyone, offering love and support to those in need. Her generosity and kindness extended beyond her professional life; she was always there to lend a helping hand or share comforting words.

Mary's life was marked by her deep love for her family, friends, and patients, and she will be dearly missed. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

The arrangements have been entrusted to Gent Funeral Home. Mary’s life and spirit will be celebrated in a graveside service on Tuesday, July 7th at 10 am in the Dunklin Memorial Gardens located in Kennett, Missouri, with family and close friends, ensuring her wishes for a simple and intimate farewell are honored.

In remembrance of Mary, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alzfdn.org), ensuring Mary’s legacy of caring continues to impact the community she loved so dearly.

May Mary’s gentle soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy of care and compassion continue to inspire us all.
