Mary Ruth Wilson, 80, passed away 7:32 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Kentucky on August 10, 1935, she was the daughter of William Thomas and Marie Etta (Manus) Jennings.
She had worked as a packer for Owens-IL Glass and then later in the cafeteria for the Bethalto School District before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, camping and baking.
On September 24, 1955 in Wood River, she married Johnnie Lee Wilson. He died July 8, 1986.
Surviving are a son, Jackie L. (Linda) Wilson of East Alton; daughter, Dorothy Wilson (Karl Winter) of East Alton; two grandchildren, Tammy (Danny) Alred in TX, Jackie (Paul) Rister in MN; great grandson, Paul "Everett" Rister;' "Grandma" to many others; brothers, Tom and Calvin Jennings; sisters, Rose Carlson, Ann Bilbruck, Linda Jennings and Betty Jennings.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. Pastor Jim Grant will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
