Mary Rita Ryan, 85, passed away at 4:30 am Sunday May 27, 2012 at Provisions in Godfrey.
She was born on February 25, 1927 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of Thomas L. & Mary A. (Meehan) Tracy.
She married John M. Ryan on July 5, 1947 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2002.
She worked for the City of Alton Comptroller’s Office as the Deputy Comptroller.
She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton.
She is survived by seven children and spouses, James Ryan and LucyChappee of Alton, Michael and Sarah Ryan of Alton, Paul and Gwyn Ryan of Memphis, Tennessee, Ellen Fredrick of Godfrey, William and Ellen Ryan of Marietta, Georgia, Tracy Howard of Grafton, Maureen Ryan and Jeff Johnson of Alton; 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gene Tracy, Thomas L. Tracy and Terence M. Tracy.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Monday May 28, 2012 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday May 29, 2012.
Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Godfrey.
