Mary Ora Sievers

Mary Ora Sievers, age 90, Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Delmar Gardens, O'Fallon, MO. Mary was born on July 19, 1925 in Broughton, IL, a daughter of the late John and Elsie (McGill) Lasater.

Mary was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Edwardsville, IL. She was a proud homemaker who loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She had volunteered for Gateway Regional Hospice and Faith In Action. Mary enjoyed gardening and going shopping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Mary loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. Mary will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Garner, Howard Winter and Henry Sievers, her brother, Claude Lasater and two sisters, Louise Towle and Myrtle Mathieu.

She is survived by her loving children, David (Marjory) Garner of O'Fallon, MO, John (Joan) Garner and Mark Garner both of Edwardsville, IL; proud grandmother to Scott (Sandra) McMillian, Bill (Sherry) Frey, Nancy McMillian, Angela Mosby, Ronald (Candis) Bitticks, Jeremy (Gaby) Garner, Randall Bitticks and Andrea (Michael) Pohlmann; proud great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; extended family and friends.

In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL. Interment will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery in Broughton, IL.

Memorial donations may be given to Heartland Hospice and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
