Mary Margaret Spears, 64, of Bethalto, IL, died at 9:45 a.m. Sun. Sept. 29, 2013 at her home with her family at her side.
She was born Feb. 6, 1949 in Alton, IL to the late Russell Cantrell & Marie Cantrell Foster.
On Oct. 12, 1968, she and Gary Alan Spears were married at the First Baptist Church in Cottage Hills, IL. He survives in Bethalto.
Mary was a retired cosmetologist and had worked at many local beauty shops.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: a daughter, Lindsay Spears of Wood River, IL and a son, Jeremy Spears of East Alton, IL, 3 grandchildren, Kara & Trenton and their mother, Kelli Crawford & Kayla, a sister, Carol Toenyes of Bethalto and a half-sister, Sue Stevenson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Spangler.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of memorial services at 10:00 a.m. Fri. Oct. 4, 2013 at Paynic Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
