Mary Margaret Hyden, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009 surrounded by the love of her family and best friend after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on July 31, 1939 in West Frankfort, IL, daughter of Ranel and Gladys (Young) Wall.
She was employed by the Bethalto school district until she retired in 1995. Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting, Cardinal baseball and most of all playing with all of her grandchildren throughout the years. She was a selfless person whose family and friends meant the world to her.
She was the beloved wife of Virgil D. Hyden and beloved mother to Jack Hyden & wife Kathy of Cottage Hills, daughter, Terry Vetter & husband Mike of Alton, Tom Hyden & wife Terri of Bethalto, Scott Hyden & wife Melissa of Wood River and Shelly Chadwick of Edwardsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren ,Craig Hyden (Haley) of Bethalto, Mary Fitzhugh (Bryan) of Walnut Creek, California, Kimberly Bohnenstiehl (Kelly) of East Alton, Brandy Wooden (David) of Valparaiso, Indiana, Nichole Sayler (Nathan) of Buffalo, MO , Scott Travis Hyden of Edwardsville, Chelsey, Sabrina, Jacob & Tyler Hyden of Wood River, Dennis & Daniel Englert of Bethalto, TJ Hyden of Cottage Hills, and Andy Hyden of Missouri; great grandchildren, Tristen Hyden, Connor & Caleb Wooden, Madison Sayler, and Karissa Bohnenstiehl; a sister, Patsey Coffman; a brother, Bob Wall and wonderful friends, Brenda & Charlie Hudson .
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service will be at 4 pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles West and Pastor Jack Hyden officiating. Visitation will begin after service until 8 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Per her request cremation rites were accorded.
