Mary L. Locke, 94, passed away 8:20 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Integrity Healthcare of Wood River.
Born September 21, 1921 in LaPlata, MO, she was the daughter of Edward E. and Lucy (Maixer) DeLong.
She had been a teacher in the Wood River-Hartford School District many years before retiring. She was a long-time member of the P.E.O. and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
On July 18, 1946 in Wood River, she married Wallace L. Locke. He died March 2, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Wallace L. Locke, Jr. of Wood River; daughter Jana (Dennis) McKinney of Wood River; five grandchildren, Mike (Idalia) McKinney, Sam McKinney (Ashley); Wally Locke, Christopher Locke, Samantha Locke; and great grandchildren, Zoe McKinney, Dakota Locke, Alex Locke, Brandon Locke, Mike McKinney, Jr.
Her perents; husband; and three brothers, Edmond E., V. Wilson and Leland DeLong preceded in death.
Visitatio will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at The United Presbyterian Church in Wood River. Rev. Pam Laing will officiate.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The United Presbyterian Church, where she was a member.
