Mary Jean Jones, 96, of Bethalto passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
She was born on December 29, 1924, in Carlinville, IL, the daughter of James William and Ola Grace (Poole) Modlin.
She married Loren C. Jones on December 24, 1947, in Carlinville. He preceded her in death in June of 1992.
Mary was a member of Bethal Baptist Church. She enjoyed oil painting, dancing, and cooking big family dinners.
She is survived by her children, James (Rita) Jones and Lori (Joe) Winiger; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Loren, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, John Modlin.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of service at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Phil Warren will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
