Mary Jane Foster, 81, passed away 5:45 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at her residence.
Born in Carlinville on December 23, 1933, she was the daughter of James and Hazel (Hinthorne) Harrop.
She had worked in the Primer Division of the Olin Corporation before retiring.
On October 13, 1955 in East Alton, she married Thomas E. Foster. He survives.
Surviving also are a son Doug (Trudy) Foster of Meadowbrook; four grandchildren, Jamie Foster, Mike (Tina) Foster, Allie Foster, Elizabeth Field; three great grandchildren, Joseph Foster, Ryan and Jabe Richey; two brothers, John Harrop Of Meadowbrook, Ron Harrop of East Alton; four sisters, Hazel Harris of Lebanon, Dorris Radliff of Godfrey, Janet Cato of Meadowbrook, Linda James of Marble Hill, MO; nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were her parents; grandson, James Lee Michael Foster; daughter-in-law, Debbie Foster; brothers, James and Robert Harrop; sisters, Sharon Howard and Joyce Harrop.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, January 20 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Meadowbrook Fire Protection District or the American Cancer Society.
