Mary E. Werts, 84, passed away at 9:05 pm, November 12, 2012 at Jerseyville Manor.
She was born in Hardin, IL on February 17, 1928 the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Mielke) Weaver.
On March 6, 1962 she married Orville R. Werts in Alton, IL at the Beltline Christian Center Church of God. He preceded her in death May 11, 1986.
Mary was a member of the Beltline Christian Center. She worked for 27 years at Owens Illinois Glass Corporation, retiring in the packing department.
She is survived by two step daughters, Mary Ann Novack of Reding, FL and Kathy Werts of FL; three step sons, Roger Werts of Fosterberg, IL, Arthur Stawiszynski of Texas and Wayne Werts of Maine; two sisters, Dorothy Swearington of Jerseyville, IL and Mildred (Sam) Steward of Godfrey, IL; and one brother, Robert (Margaret) Weaver of Banks, Oregon; one sister in law, Beatrice Weaver of Godfrey; along with a special friend, George (Jack) Pace of Godfrey.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Randall and a brother, Howard Weaver.
Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am, Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL. Funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev Matthew Prince officiating.
Burial will follow at Fosterberg Cemetery in Fosterberg, IL.
Memorials may be made to Beltline Christian Center in Alton.
