Mary Franklin

Mary E. Franklin, 82, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at St. Anthony's Health Center. Born March 20, 1926 in Alton, she was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Mabel Yost. She married John Franklin on December 16, 1989 in Cottage Hills. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Gloria Marshall of Gillespie and Sharon Nichols of Shepherd, TX, a son, Bob Russell of Godfrey, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a brother, Gene Yost of Rockford. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
