Mary Donna Scaturro, 91, of Winfield, MO, formerly of Venice, IL and Safety Harbor, FL, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on February 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Troy, MO.
She was born October 6, 1929 in Granite City, daughter of the late John Lawrence and Lillian Elizabeth (Rush) Luddon.
She attended Madison High School and graduated in 1947. She married Thomas “Tom” Scaturro on October 16, 1948 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Venice and he passed away on February 15, 2018.
She retired in 1993 from the Venice Lincoln Technical Adult Center after 28 years of dedicated service as a secretary. She was a devoted member of the former St. Mark’s Church.
She is survived by her children, Leonard (Arlene) Scaturro of Millstadt, IL, Marguerite Hicks of Atchison, KS, David (Cathy) Scaturro of Sioux Falls, SD, Michael Scaturro of Granite City, IL, Daniel (Michele) Scaturro of St. Louis, MO, Mary Beth Brugmann of Winfield, MO, Rita (Ken) Jones of Waterloo, IL and Thomas (Marta) Scaturro of Granite City, IL; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Paul Weber) Luddon of Maryland Heights, MO and Sr. Margie Luddon of Allison Park, PA; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 69 years and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Lawrence “Larry” Scaturro; two sons-in-law, Jerry Hicks and John Brugmann; great granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Baker and a nephew, John Luddon.
A private family Funeral Mass and burial will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville on Saturday, February 20, 2021 with Father Steve Thompson as celebrant.
A celebration of life gathering will be held in the future.
