Mary Siemer

Mary Catherine Siemer, 71, died at 2:49 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital.  She was born May 19, 1947 in Alton the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Thomae) Haufe.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  She worked for many years at Josephine’s Tea Room in Godfrey, she also worked as a wedding decorator with Sharon Waide and she enjoyed working in her yard with her mother and enjoyed traveling with family.  On April 22, 1967 in Alton she married Richard “Rick” Siemer and he survives.  Also surviving are one son, Matthew Siemer (Kristen) of Alton, two grandchildren, Callie and Evelyn and one brother, Joseph Haufe of Alton.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m.  on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Pastor Jim Allen will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the Alton 5’A’s Animal Shelter.  Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
