Mary Lynn Carter, 77, of Benld, IL, died at her residence on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10:58 am. She was born December 4, 1946, in Carlinville, IL to Charles Norbent & Frances Turigliatto Norbent. She married William J. Carter on February 14, 1970 in Carlinville, IL. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1993. She retired in 2012 after having worked for UCB for 19 years. Mary had lived in Japan for three years. She loved being from Benld and Italian American Days. She enjoyed cardinal birds, sports and playing cards. She was a simple lady and her treasurers were her family that she enjoyed being with. Mary is survived by her children, William J. (spouse, Jennifer) Carter Jr. of Benld, IL, Theresa (companion, Donald Montoro) Carter of Wilsonville, IL, Amy N. Carter of Dallas, TX, grandchildren, Owen Michael (fiancée, Janel Gaither) Carter of Benld, IL, Joseph Carter stationed with the US Navy in Yokosuka, Japan, Jake (companion, Morgan Buckner) Carter of Benld, IL, McKenna Montoro of Wilsonville, IL, Ryan (companion, Deanna Ratcliffe) Montoro of Wilsonville, IL, Casey (spouse, Jerrett) McLean of Franklinton, NC, Caitlyn Montoro of Oxford, NC, great-grandchildren, Frankie Montoro, Vinnie Montoro, Cadance McLean, Charleigh McLean, niece, Kellie (spouse, Phil) Vesper of Benld, IL, nephew, Robert Wright of Benld, IL, great niece, Veronica Vesper, great nephew, Hunter Vesper, great great niece, Autumn Estelle. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, siblings, John Jack Norbent, Martha Norbent and Geraldine Wright. Friends may call on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services are Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld. Burial will be at Benld Cemetery, Benld, IL. Memorials are suggested to Gillespie High School Sports.
