Mary Bruhn

Mary E. Bruhn, 102, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 10:24 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Community Hospital of Staunton, IL. She was born May 28, 1924 in Beason, IL, the daughter of the late George J. & Cora L. (O’Mara) Newhouse. She married Elmer J. Bruhn on October 5, 1944 in Lincoln, IL & he passed away on July 23, 2000.

Mary was a member of Staunton Methodist Church, Staunton Senior Citizens, Mt. Olive Senior Citizens, & AARP Chapter #1179. She worked as a Teller at First National Bank in Staunton, IL for many years.

She is survived by her son - Dale E. (Carol) Bruhn of Litchfield, IL; her grandchildren - Cara Bruhn of Greenville, IL, Derrick (Lynne) Bruhn of Monticello, IL, & Kelly Masterson (significant other Brent) of Defiance, MO; two great grandchildren - Mabry Bruhn & Mylin Bruhn of Monticello, IL; daughter-in-law - Cathy Meyers of Staunton, IL; step grandchildren - Keith (Kelly) Meyers of Staunton, IL, Kelly (Dennis) Lowder of Staunton, IL, & Jessica (Cale) Henke of Edwardsville, IL; as well as five step great grandchildren - Kailyn, Kayce, Dylan, Dalton, & Jackson.

Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by two sons - Roy Bruhn (2001) & George Bruhn (2014); daughter-in-law - Suzanne Bruhn; great granddaughter - Morley Bruhn; step grandson Jacob & step great granddaughter Lainey; four sisters & two brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Nancy Hubert officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Staunton Methodist Church.
