Mary Hamilton

Mary A. Hamilton, 77, passed away at 6:17 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton.  

She was born on May 6, 1939 in Alton the daughter of the late Philip and Alvena (Thornhill) Green.  She married Paul E. Hamilton on September 24, 1960 in Godfrey, Illinois. He preceded her in death in November 2011.Mary was a home maker. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #794 of East Alton. Mary was an avid reader, she enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, watching NASCAR and the STL Cardinals.She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Randy (Pam) Hamilton of Highland; Phil “Joe” Hamilton of Jerseyville; Paul “Scott” (Jill) Hamilton of Bethalto; Terrianne (Charlie) McCoy of Jerseyville; Pam Jones of Jerseyville; Teri “Ollie” Minder of East Alton; Jeff (Helen) Hamilton of Godfrey; three sisters, Phyllis (Butch) Oberlohr of Alton; Marlene (Jess) Tomerlin of Rockaway Beach, MO; Terri (Bob) Schulte of Cottage Hills; one brother, Phil “Gene” (Nancy) Green of Otterville; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Hamilton; son-in-law, Bill “Bull” Frazier; grandson, Austin; great grandson, Dominic.  Visitation will be on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev.
