Marvin Vogt

Marvin R. Vogt, age 79 of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Belleville, Illinois, died at 5:38 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville. He was born on August 5, 1937, in Belleville, the son of the late Edward G. & Minnie A. (Plickebaum) Vogt. Marvin was an original stockholder of Tamarack Country Club in Shiloh, Illinois, where he managed until 2010.  Prior to that he was an owner/operator of E. G. Vogt Oil Company in Belleville, Illinois. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Spelver) Vogt on June 5, 2005. He later married Darla G. (Talkington) Vogt on August 3, 2006, and she survives. Marvin is also survived by one daughter Kristi A. Nowak & husband Jamie of Belleville; one son, Michael E. Vogt & LeeAnn Hembrough of O’Fallon, Illinois; three grandchildren, Brady Nowak, Briana Nowak, and Stone Vogt. He was also preceded in death by one son, Brian Vogt, one brother, Vernon Vogt and a sister, Florene Berkel. Marvin was a member of Eden Church in Edwardsville, Missouri Air National Guard at Jefferson Barracks, the Elk’s Lodge in Belleville, a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and an Eagle Scout.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Eden Church, 903 Second Street in Edwardsville. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Eden Church with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
