Marvin F. Leadicker, 91, died at 6:28 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Robings Manor in Brighton. Born December 25, 1922 in Paducah, KY, he was the son of Virgil and Lou (O’Bryan) Leadicker. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s Mate Second Class during WWII. He retired as a roller from Laclede Steel in 1982. Over the years he built seven houses for his family. In December of 1940 he married the former Margaret Henson. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Gaye Ann Leadicker-Bloyd (Kenneth) of E. Prairie, MO, Karen Monroe (David) of Grafton, and Rene Leadicker-Farley (Bluford) of Godfrey, four grandchildren, William Hatcher (Kim) of Villa Grove, CO, Toi Hatcher of Waterloo, IL, Sonya Unverzagt of Brighton, and Angie Burns (Ronald ) of Brighton, five great grandchildren, Levi Unverzagt, Sabrina Burns, Mya Burns, Phillip Saale, and Melissa Saale, and a half-brother, Claudie English of Paducah, KY. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Zoey Unverzagt, and a brother Ira Leadicker. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Jerry MeCaskey will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with full military honors by the VFW Post 1308. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes or the Disabled American Veterans.
