Martha Torres

Martha Anne Torres (née Jackson), age 85, of Rio Vista, California, was born on January 12, 1941, in Huttig, Arkansas. She peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri.

Martha dedicated more than 30 years of service to Owens-Illinois Glass Company. She was also a proud member of the Corvette Club of Las Vegas and thoroughly enjoyed attending Corvette events and races. Her love for the club was reflected in the clothing and memorabilia she proudly wore.

Martha had a passion for experiencing fine cuisine from many cultures and found great joy in traveling throughout the United States and abroad. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome wherever she went. Her warm personality, generous spirit, and vibrant smile left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Martha also loved to dance, and her energy and enthusiasm brought joy to every gathering she attended.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, L.J. Jackson and Lilli Pearl Ollison; her six siblings; her daughter, Dana Brooks; and her cherished best friend and “baby sister,” Vivian Gill.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Richard Torres; her children, Mary (Duane) Brooks, Diana (James) Carroll, Brandon (Felicia) Brooks, and Eric Brooks; her grandchildren, Reshima Jackson, Yona Burris, Jazmon Monique Carroll, Desmend Brooks, Paula Brooks-Brown, Briah Napier, and Blayke Burris; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched.

The family extends its sincere appreciation for the love, prayers, and support received during this difficult time.

A private service will be held in San Francisco, CA, at a later date.
