Martha Lyons

Martha J. Lyons, 88, died at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2016 at Integrity Healthcare of Godfrey, formerly Blu-Fountain Manor. Born November 22, 1927 in Carrollton, IL, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Grace (Reynolds) Admire. She retired as a secretary for the Alton School District after over 20 years of service and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. On November 26, 1950 she married James Lyons in Carrollton, IL. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2015. Surviving are two sons, Roger Lyons of Godfrey and Greg L. Lyons (Teresa) of Godfrey, four grandchildren, Matthew Lyons (Lindsey), Carol Robinson (Philip), James Lyons, and Mary Kate Lyons, three great grandchildren, Wes Robinson, Parker Robinson, and McKenna Lyons. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Ray Admire, and two sisters, Dorothy Cummins and Barbara Pozarski. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Father Al Allen will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
