Martha Davis

CMSGT Martha V. Davis, Ret., age 95, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on March 30, 1931, in Veedersburg, IN, died on October 3, 2026, at her residence.

Martha had a distinguished career for 34 years, blazing a trail as a woman in the United States Military. She was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Airforce, being one of three women to achieve that rank at that time and was awarded many ribbons, medals and awards. When she was a Chief Master Sergeant, she was the only female at that time in the Airforce to achieve that rank. After she retired with the military, Martha also served as a  consultant at Raytheon for 10 years and she traveled the world at that capacity. Martha loved crafting and going to the local craft fairs.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Davis; her parents, Mary Josephine and Clare Rudoph, nee Clark McConahay; and her siblings, Elizabeth, Mary Margaret, Rudy, Gladys and Claire.

Martha is survived by her husband of 50 years, CMSGT Harry E. Davis, Ret.; her daughter, Lori (Bob) Harvey; her grandchildren, Tracy Herschel, Ben Harvey, Chris Harvey, Ryan Hall and Katie Kincaid; thirteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Martha shared a special relationship with her nephew, Bruce Pitt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
