Marnetta Louise Williams, 56 went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, June 25, 2016 at 6:21 a.m. at Alton Memorial Hospital.Marnetta was born January 29, 1960 in Alton, Illinois to the union of James K. Williams and Peggy (Chambliss) Williams.She attended and graduated from Alton Public Schools. She was employed for Internal Revenue Service and Illinois Department of Human Services in Springfield, IL. Currently, until her health failed, she was employed at Whelan Security in St. Louis, MO.Sister Williams professed hope in Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church of East St. Louis, IL.She was proceeded in death by daughter, Kenya Shaunette Parrish; and 2 brothers, James Kenneth “Ken” Williams, Jr. and Grailon Leon Williams.She leaves lasting memories: a son, Quincy Leon Williams and a grandson, Jayden Williams both of St. Louis, MO; her loving mother, Peggy Williams and father, James K. Williams both of Alton; a grandmother, Linnie Bearden of Calument City, IL; 3 sisters, Jamescina “Tiny” Williams of St. Louis, MO, Linnie Garrett of Atlanta, GA, and Yvonne “Yogi” Jones of Phoenix, Arizona; 3 brothers, Bryan Michael “Red” Williams of Alton, Mark Mike of Alton, and Chris Mike of Boston, MA; 2 uncles, Arlan Chambliss of Calument City, IL and Versay Ross of St. Louis, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Visitation will convene Friday, July 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Anchor of Hope Fellowship Center. Pastor Seeram Garney will officiate. Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Guest registry and condolences are available online at: www.harrisonfuneralchapel.com.
